Favorite Healthy Meal

Favorite healthy meals?

I love all fruits and vegetables. Coach Nev, my wife, makes a delicious mango salad. She cuts up red onion, avocado, mango, and tomato. Squeezes fresh lemon/lime juice over it adds balsamic, olive oil, and a pinch of salt to finish. We normally eat it with a cut of fish, but I also enjoy it alone.

Favorite cheat meal?
I honestly view nutrition as part of my lifestyle, so I wouldn’t really be able to say I have a cheat meal. I listen to my cravings more so because they are either steak or something fatty. For the most part, they come after intense training sessions coupled with the coaching day. Signs I need fuel and recovery.

Do you see value in a cheat meal?

Again, I view nutrition as a life style. If you struggle with creating or shifting your lifestyle a slight slide can turn into a long hard fall. Very slippery slope for most. Learn to read the cravings for what the body is actually asking for and learn the healthier substitutes. This may be a great topic to hit with Pat McGavin, RD in the future, STAY TUNED!
